We recently finished watching NZ detective series The Gulf. Set on Waiheke Island in the Hauraki Gulf, with occasional ferry trips to Auckland.

Not bad, quite engaging. Manages to keep intrigue going through its two seasons (so far) with its cop-with-a-secret premise. Stunning scenery doesn't hurt either.

Props to Mohamed Semra's teachers for doing so much - getting him to speech therapy to deal with stuttering, sticking up for him, and advocating for him during the apple racial profiling incident. Teachers matter.

back in 2015, Mohamed Semra was racially profiled by an Apple Store in Melbourne, where he was refused entry because he was black.

He's now Mayor of Maribynong, where that Apple store resides.
