Apparently there's a UK TV "manufacturer" called #celloTV 🤔.

They do a 19" dumb (NOT #InternetOfShit) TV for £120, or £100 with coupon on their eBay listing.

Ordered Friday arrived Monday and works. It has USB recording/playback, Freeview etc. Looks perfect, although I'm used to rubbish. Got it so I can read text more easily when used as a monitor in my #HomeLab.

One *major* irritation, text screens disappear 10s after last button press, way too short even for EPG. EDIT: can set this to 35s

Haha so our ISO is having an extended (planned) outage but I forgot to tell our son who tried to fix things by rebooting the house router but apparently the router keeps its config on Someone Else’s Computer* so not only is the internet down but so is the home network and I have to wait for the internet to come back to see if the router comes back or if I’m spending the weekend rebuilding our network from scratch (and this time writing it down).

One of the worst things these days on the internet is "helpful" search engines on websites.

I have a thing I want to search for... I type the thing... the website assumes I've made a spelling mistake and shows me all the things that are spelt in a similar way... but crucially, and I mean CRUCIALLY, ARE NOT THE THING I AM SEARCHING FOR!

There should be a button on websites that says "just tell me if there is nothing that matches, I'm a big boy, I'll be ok" ...
