FMD I am so old. Fetch my zimmerframe would you?

😆

Someone illustrated an article about a software vulnerability with a photo of a computer - basically a stock photo. The computer is in a museum and old enough that it can't run the software in question, which is a bit of a minor nit. The author is obviously too young to know this.

But what's funnier is that it's a from-front-and-above picture of an Apple IIc with the classic monitor on a perch above the computer - but the author didn't recognize that, and the caption identifies it as a laptop 🤣

Stumbled across this earlier. Worth a listen if you were ever a fan of Budgie. Can’t believe it’s 50 years old!

@arstechnica I remember when an entire company would share a T1, the router was $2500 and the monthly bill was $1500. That 1.544 Mbp connection is now like bad cell reception in the mountains. #inmyday #andwelikedit

@pixel9 Well, I believe they're meant to, more or less.
I suppose you would have had to have used those old machines to really understand. They were so easy to use. Seriously, the programs had a very short learning curve but were amazingly functional. The Help files that came on the computer were excellent. There was no Internet in those days. If you didn't know how to do something you asked the computer and it told you.
