The last 3 years or so I have been adding to my Sony lens collection, & have some impressive glass at this point. But one of the very first ones I picked up, a Tamron 28-75 VXD G2, in so many ways remains my favorite.

Lightweight, fast-focusing, quiet, & reasonably priced. It is capable of producing some stunningly sharp pics.

Even compressed some 75% for example, the detail of this Steller's Jay is something.

Late Night After The Aquatennial:

During my years living in Minneapolis (5th and Marquette), I used to walk around a lot during the late hours with my Sony RX100, which was a surpisingly good night photography camera. This one was taken shortly after the 2014 Aquatennial had wrapped up and the crowds had dispersed.

I'm not normally tempted to take photos of Seagulls as honestly there are almost a limitless number of them all giving their best supermodel poses in and around Monterey Bay.

Sometimes you get the lucky shot...

Walking around the Elkorn Slough today and trying my hand at Avian Photography, something I haven't done much of until recently.

My technique still needs some work, but I am beginning to get some shots I like, such as these two today of a Great Blue Heron as it was focusing on its prey, followed by the exact moment it struck.
