JuniperlouEvery year, checking the water level for our Christmas tree is a minor hassle. It's hard to get close enough to see it, especially when you're refilling and don't want the water to overflow. This year, a hollow plastic ornament fell into the stand, and I realized it helps out by acting as a float. I wish this had happened years ago.
My 8 year old decided that all the mushroom ornaments should hang in a clump, since that's how they grow in real life
I wasn't sure it would be done before Christmas. Can you tell which parts are easiest for the kids to reach?

One of my kids is celebrating their birthday today. It's about a month late, as they were waiting for the perfect day: no school, no extracurriculars, no plans other than just enjoying a full day of birthday fun. They requested either Timbits or Froot Loops for breakfast; somehow, we ended up with 4 ridiculous breakfast cereals.
Making progress with trimming the tree. I've learned that putting up the lights is faster for my short self if I don't have to keep on moving one stool around the tree
Finding a little garden growing on the underside of the sticky inner cover of a bottle of herbs is a delightful surprise each time
