I am not sure this watercolor by Vibeke Krogh has ever been published, so I want to be sure to credit them. It’s a #reconstruction of #Gardar (#Igaliku) in the 1200s. I found it hanging in the hostel there and was so enamored I took a picture to use in my thesis! #Greenland #Archaeology

Based on splinters of wood and a well preserved skeleton, it is possible that the 13th century Bishop of #Gardar was buried in the north chapel with two episcopal sandals but only one foot! I wonder what the story was there.
