We’ve been lucky so far to not have a real power outage during this latest #atx #icepocalypse - but these fraction of a second micro outages we keep having that cause many things around the house to reset are irritating too.

We just lost power in our #Austin apartments. We have lots of blankets, stove top food, backup batteries and supplies of all kinds so we should be fine. Also, the #NintendoSwitch is fully charged. The cats are a bit freaked out. #Winter #icepocalypse

Now that the South seems to be experiencing bouts of regular, annual, subfreezing weather, I’d be curious to know what the real differences are between how houses are built up north versus in the south.

I’ve always understood the diff to be north=to keep heat in, south=to keep heat out, but I’d really like to know the specific differences, if there are actually any along those lines.
