DIe Inititative der #IUCr, Rohdaten #FAIR verfügbar zu machen, erfordert ein kompatibles Datenformat. Dieses wird in den Communitys als CIF/CBF bzw. NeXuS in #HDF5-Containern definiert.

Dies führt unter anderem dazu, dass Industrie entsprechende Konverter aus ihren proprietären Dateiformaten bereitstellt 🥳

Double Anniversary in Crystallography 🎉

At the 35th European Crystallographic Meeting (ECM 2025) in Poland, we celebrated two milestones:

40 years of ICSD (FIZ Karlsruhe)

60 years of CSD (CCDC)

Around 60 guests joined our reception – a real who’s who of crystallography.
Highlights included inspiring talks, and the introduction of Suzanna Ward as the new Executive Director of CCDC by Prof. Susan Bourne, President of the CCDC Board of Trustees.

Crystal structure of MbnF: an NADPH-dependent flavin monooxygenase from Methylocystis strain SB2

Methanobactins are post-translationally modified copper-binding peptides that have a number of potential environmental and biomedical applications. This report presents the crystal structure and preliminary biochemical characterization of the putative methanobactin biosynthesis protein MbnF.

Introduction to the virtual thematic issue on room-temperature biological crystallography

Room-temperature biological crystallography has seen a resergence in recent years and a collection of articles recently published in IUCrJ, Acta Cryst. D Structural Biology and Acta Cryst. F Structural Biology Communications, have been collected together to produce a virtual special issue at https://journals.iucr.org/special_issues/2022/RT/.
