Hearing Update:

Today, the IT Rules 2021 batch of petitions was listed before the Delhi High Court for hearing. On mentioning, the court took up the matter. Parties have been directed to file their written submissions.

The matter will be taken up next on 17th July 2025.

On September 26, 2024, the Bombay High Court's Division Bench delivered its final verdict striking down the IT (Amendment) Rules, 2023, as unconstitutional. The amendment allowed the Central Government to establish a Fact-Check Unit to label online content about government matters as fake or false.
