I have solved my #Matter-over- #Thread VLAN issue 💪
Solution was to setup a static Routing in my #Unifi Cloud Gateway, which uses the HomePod Mini as Hop for the Thread #IPv6 subnet.
Now my #ikea smart button is working in #homeassistant 🥳

I’m trying to figure out why DHCP clients on my LAN are respecting Option 6 to force IPv4 DNS servers, but not Option 23 for DNS over IPv6

@heshsum At the moment, I believe the issue is related to IPv6 routing between the two VLANs.
However, I don’t want to put my HomePod Mini in the same VLAN as my Homelab.
After five hours of research, I’ve decided to take a break.
I believe the issue lies in the separate #IPv6 VLAN created by the #Thread Boarder Router. Perhaps implementing some static routes could resolve this problem. Will try it later…

Had the problem on DN42 (a distributed overlay network, that is sperated from the internet), that my FreeBSD servers couldn't update without hacky firewall tricks (NAT etc.)
Did now finally solve that cleanly with a single caching Nginx server that is dual-homed (internet+dn42) and that enables me to use freebsd-update AND pkg from systems that only have DN42 connectivity :-)
Also add that to the DN42 wiki and offer others to use it as infrastructure!
