I found lately this #progmetal band from #Prague called #ions and I’m totally addicted! Even their first album is so good and have such a broad palette of genre specific elements. It’s melodic, it hits hard, it flows so nicely. Just beautiful!

Say this quickly three times - magnetoplasmadynamic thruster!
NASA/JPL successfully tested a new magnetoplasmadynamic (MPD) ion thruster spacecraft engine that runs on lithium metal vapor.
Ion engines accelerate ions — charged atoms — out through a nozzle to provide thrust, hence they are often described as using "electric propulsion" and are 25 times more powerful that current engines that burn chemical propellant.
The test showed the electric propulsion system capable of operating at power levels up to 120 kilowatts. https://www.space.com/astronomy/mars/nasa-is-making-a-powerful-new-ion-engine-to-send-astronauts-to-mars-and-it-just-passed-its-1st-test #NASA #Space #SpaceCraft #MPDEngines #magnetoplasmadynamic #Ions #IonThruster #Lithium

Reveals new insight into solar flare heat dynamics and space weather.
A new study by researchers from the University of St Andrews led by Alexander Russell has provided a groundbreaking explanation for a long-standing mystery about solar flares. For decades, scientists have known that solar flare plasma gets incredibly hot, but how ions and electrons heat up different... [More info]
How does the discovery of solar flare ions being 6.5 times hotter than electrons reshape our understanding of solar flare emissions and their impact on space weather, especially for Earth's ionosphere and spacecraft? @aib...
