@landonnoll here are some brilliant macOS easter eggs, one from awk(1) and the other from strftime(3). You'll enjoy the strftime(3) one more as an astronomer. On the other hand a number of brilliant #IOCCC entries have done even better with visuals of the Moon phases!
Tomorrow, 2026 Apr 2, Landon will begin the long process of converting submissions into winning entry form. This includes improving Makefiles, try.sh, & README.md files. Then we will begin to create the content for the Our Favorite Universe YouTube show to present the winners. Last, we verify were ready to git push the 2025 directory to the website.
ETA to announcing the winners: 1 month. Sorry (tm Canada 🇨🇦) to the impatient: your wait will be well worth it.

Happy April Fools’ Day: The rest is NOT an April Fools’ joke:
The IOCCC judges have paused their work today to watch what we hope will be a successful Artemis II launch and successful orbit insertion.
We are beginning to do the formal write-ups of the final round submissions. We have made some adjustments to the set of submissions based on this work. We have a better idea of the set that might win IOCCC29.
We, the IOCCC Judges, are finally in the final round of judging of IOCCC29: unless for some reason we need another final round to finally finalize the winners. :-)
