Saw an #IFFBoston screening of Chloé Zhao's HAMLET. The production design, costumes, and cinematography perfectly immerse you in the 16th century without pretentiousness or artifice. The performances are great. The story I was ok with, never bored but a little, "ok I’ve got it", but wow, it really pays off emotionally in the end.

I highly recommend it. Comes out 12/12 and wider release in January near all those Oscar nominations it's going to get.

The doc Come See Me in the Good Light premieres on AppleTV today. No one reading the description (lesbian poets dealing with cancer during the pandemic) will be drawn to watch it, but it's really funny and touching and my favorite documentary of the year. Please give it a chance and then followup with the Q&A I saw at #IFFBoston https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyTMb-HDbgo

I saw an early screening of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery at the #BrattleTheatre as part of #IFFBoston #FallFocus2025

It was great, I think my favorite of the series. Thanks #Netflix for putting it in independent theatres. It was so fun with a crowd.

#BGStats says in Oct, I got in 13 plays of 8 different #BoardGames

I missed some game time because of #IFFBoston #FallFocus

The only game new to me was Sprawlopolis which was fun solo.

Vibrating with anticipation for Jafar Panahi's newest film It Was Just An Accident. And after that, the new collaboration between Joachim Trier and Renate Reinsve, Sentimental Value. Two of my most anticipated of the year.

Happy #LetterboxdFriday !

I'm at #IFFBoston Fall Focus, hence the pre-release films.

Everett Blunck is fantastic young talent, who once again puts his nervous energy to excellent use, albeit very different than last year's Griffin in Summer.

If I Had Legs was a bizarre disappointment.

Tron: Ares was just a mess.

And Perfect Blue was my first Kon! I wouldn't be surprised if my opinion improves on a rewatch. It was just a fuckin' LOT on a first viewing.

SORRY, BABY was moving and funny; some deadpan, awkward humor is always right up my alley. Excellent choice for a closing night film. #IFFBoston
2000 METERS TO ANDRIIVKA is riveting. It’s been awhile since a movie ended and the audience was sitting in stunned silence #IFFBoston
DEAF PRESIDENT NOW was excellent and I’m glad it’s already been picked up by Apple so friends will be able to see it before too long #IFFBoston
REBEL WITH A CLAUSE was excellent. Fun and quick, you kind of love everyone involved. #IFFBoston
