Symptoms fortunately subsided after about 3 hours.
Not sure about the cause, but probably the prolonged 35℃ plus heat wave in #Tokyo took their toll.
Hoping autumn is around the corner.

"During a heat wave, many people seek relief by sitting in front of a fan. But public health agencies warn that if it’s too hot, the blowing air can actually make things worse by acting like a convection oven—and they differ on that threshold. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends not using a fan at temperatures above 32.2°C. Others... give higher thresholds, and the World Health Organization (WHO) puts the limit at 40°C."

The number one killer in #survival situations, other than acute or catastrophic #injury (which is almost never caused by #wildlife encounters, btw), is NOT #starvation or #dehydration, it's #hypothermia (or #hyperthermia, in hot climates).
The most common types of injuries in #wilderness survival situations are falls of some sort. This is why the acronym STOP exists: Sit, Think, Observe, Plan.
If you do not already know what you are doing, attempting #SelfRescue can be extremely risky.

Rack up another (another!) heat illness death in Death Valley this year!!
"A man died of heat exposure at Natural Bridge Trailhead on August 1,.Bystanders saw Robino stumble as he returned from the one-mile roundtrip Natural Bridge Trail. The bystanders offered to help Robino, but he declined. They said his responses did not make sense. Robino got in his car and drove off a steep 20-foot embankment at the edge of the parking lot. The car rolled over and airbags deployed.... ...NPS EMTs started CPR and moved Robino into the air-conditioned ambulance. Robino was declared dead at 4:42."

Why doctors are struggling to certify heat deaths even in this brutal summer
Despite new government guidelines, medical staff are reluctant to pin heat as cause of death due to lack of awareness and limited access to forensic facilities.

@ai6yr Totally agree. Again one more media outlet plays down a critical risk for vulnerable population because it’s something which won’t „kill us all“ thus we only „need to adapt“.
Even in countries with infrastructure, large heat waves can be deadly.

If you see people, espechally seniors, that seem fainting, disoriented, dizzy or frightened:
They may suffer a [light] #heatstroke, #hyperthermia or suffer from #dehydration.
If concious offer them a comfy seat in the shade and some cool [not ice-cold, but tap-cold] non-sparkling water.
A lot of seniors drink way too much and such simple remediations can help avoid the need to call an ambulance!
