ABC News: 400 people treated for heat-related illness at Arizona airshow as record temperatures bake the West

"...As the temperatures soared to 105 degrees on Saturday in Phoenix, Ariz., the third-straight day the weather has topped the 100-degree mark, more than 400 people attending an airshow in nearby Glendale were treated for heat-related illnesses, authorities said.

At least 25 people attending the Luke Days Airshow at Luke Air Force Base were overcome by the sweltering weather and had to be hospitalized for various heat-related illnesses..."

AZFamily: Hiker dies after being rescued from trail in Gold Canyon

"..Around 12:45 p.m., PCSO received a call from a group of five hikers in the Superstition Mountains. They were hiking from the Wave Cave trailhead. The hikers told crews they had been on the trail for six hours, and many of them were experiencing heat-related issues. ...A 33-year-old man in their group became unresponsive, and a bystander started CPR before medical crews arrived. ..."

"A man died of heat exposure at Natural Bridge Trailhead on August 1,.Bystanders saw Robino stumble as he returned from the one-mile roundtrip Natural Bridge Trail. The bystanders offered to help Robino, but he declined. They said his responses did not make sense. Robino got in his car and drove off a steep 20-foot embankment at the edge of the parking lot. The car rolled over and airbags deployed.... ...NPS EMTs started CPR and moved Robino into the air-conditioned ambulance. Robino was declared dead at 4:42."
