The assumptions underlying our lifestyles are rarely questioned as often as they should be. Take the meat, dairy, and egg industries, for example. There are the blatant violations of ethical treatment that many people know about - cramped space, living in their own filth, fed hormones to fatten them up, etc. But far more insidious are the assumptions we *don't* question.
