Roku's channel, Howdy, has a TV series based on Stephen King's novel, The Dead Zone (from the early 2000s. Yes, I'm late to the party). It stars Anthony Michael Hall.
I started watching it because I have read the book several times over my life and I liked the premise. The first season was OK, though they dip off into scenarios that weren't in the book at all.
I'm partway into Season 2 and struggling to keep watching. It's insipid. Hall's "I'm having a vision" face is reminiscent of someone who's badly constipated. Some of the scenarios are completely and utterly ridiculous if not improbable. Like, did you even have a scientific consultant or did you just wake up from a dream and jot down the plot?
Six seasons of this when the book is no more than feature-film length. I don't know why I'm doing this to myself. Maybe sunk cost fallacy. Idk
