The Hovitos tribe was a fictional creation.
They were invented and appeared in "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

The Hovitos are depicted as living in the mountainous jungles of Peru, armed with blowguns, spears, and bows and arrows.
While their portrayal adds to the adventure and mystique of the films, there is no historical or anthropological evidence of such a tribe existing in Peru or elsewhere.
