#Braidspoor finale : after a well coordinated  togbus ride, I caught my last train for a while. A grimy but at least punctual  IR MG will drop me in 🇩🇰 #Gelsted for #BornHack in a couple of minutes minutes.

- 4 night trains (  #KálmánImre #Hortobágy Ш #Chronomorets Ш 036 Одеса - Przemyśl)
- 1 night ferry
- 2 seas ( the Black Sea & the Baltic Sea )
- lots of joy & tasty food

Arrived in 🇺🇦 #Київ /Kyiv/, 3 hours late. The  ІС to carry our  through carriages from  #Hortobágy already left a long time ago, our carriages were included into the  #Transcarpathia due to the delay. Sunset is yet beautiful above the cityscape, now time for tasty dinner. Damn, I was missing this city 🥰. #Braidspoor
Good morning 🇺🇦 Ukraine ! The  #Hortobágy safely brought us to the border of 🇺🇦 #Чоп /Chop/ where we arrived with ~3 hours of delay. After regauging, the delay accumulated to round about 4 hours in 🇺🇦 #Мукачево /Mukachevo/. Gladly, the  ІС 750 was waiting with its departure for you  through carriages with its departure for 🇺🇦 #Київ /Kyiv/. #Braidspoor
After tasty breakfast with @stadtstreunen_at and a relaxing day in #metalab, our  #Hortobágy with its  RIC wagon-lits through carriages to 🇺🇦 #Київ finally showed up with 50 minutes of delay. @vorortanleiter still waved after us - eastbound it goes with the next major break in 🇺🇦 #Чоп for regauging. #Braidspoor

New #Braidspoor trains in my next trip :

- D 40149 / Ш 149Д #Hortobagy 🇦🇹 Wien Hbf - 🇭🇺 Budapest-Keleti - 🇺🇦 Київ Пас
- Ш 036Ш / TLK 35/33030 🇺🇦 Одеса - 🇵🇱 Przemyśl Gl.

Though these are new trains, neither of the routes is new to me. Well, but the trains are cute.

All settled for my next #Braidspoor #CrossBorderRail trip : by waiting for 12 a.m. last night, I could catch two of the rare  149 #Hortobagy  through carriage reservations from 🇦🇹 Wien Hbf to 🇺🇦 Київ Рас.

Since the  were delayed in their booking system, I had to make use of the  MÁV online system constraining international ticket purchases to stations from/to Hungary so in fact the ticket is only from Hegyshalom rather than Wien Hbf. Along with InterRail this shouldn't make a difference anyway, especially considering how we will first visit the dining car of the #SleeperAndEater anyway.

I'm very excited : I've already been in pretty any kind of  Ukrainian sleeper carriages but the western-style RIC carriages of Ukrainian origin are something new to me anyway.

Our trip will be a long one : we will start in 🇫🇷 Alsace by regional train across the border to 🇩🇪 Germany and from 🇩🇪 Stuttgart on, the  #KalmanImre will be taking us eastbound during night one. The first day will be a relaxed day in 🇦🇹 Wien (happy to meet fellow railway enthusiasts there, just poke me !), night two will bring us via 🇭🇺 Budapest and 🇺🇦 Львів to 🇺🇦 Київ where we planned delicious vegan dinner and sight seeing for my daughter who never went there before. Night three will bring us with the modern and comfortable  105К flagship to 🇺🇦 Одеса where we plan a relaxed day swimming in the Black Sea at the beaches of south of the town.

Because our destination sadly isn't Ukraine itself but 🇩🇰 Odense, night four will bring us north-westbound to 🇵🇱 Przemyśl in the  through carriages of the 36Ш mainline. Day four will be a daytime travel day getting us to 🇵🇱 Gdynia at the Baltic Sea ports where night five will sail us by  Stenaline over the sea to 🇸🇪 Karlskrona with the final part on day six via 🇩🇰 København to #BornHack on 🇩🇰 Funen island 🎉.

Does anyone know why  🤝  only carry three WLABm  through carriages from/to Ukraine onto the  140 / 149 #Hortobagy ? They are always fully booked and I feel like both УЗ and OeBB are actually pretty interested in improving the service. What's the limiting factor ? RIC rolling stock availability ? Train length ? Re-gauging facility capacity in Chop ? #CrossBorderRail

Because right now, there are literally just 30 - 90 seats available all the way from Wien to Kyiv - nothing compared to the capacity on the route section Chop <-> Lviv <-> Kyiv where the Ш 750 / 749 operated with 25+ carriages.
