The #HinterlandDress is such a reliably great make! I love yours.

Oh, so fun!! I LOVE French seams, even with the extra work. I liked a lot of the design aspects of the Studio Tunic and I also made it with thrifted fabric (a sheet). However, none of the fit really worked for me when it was complete. I'd like the centre seam and yoke, biggish pockets but I'd like it to fit more like a dress than a tunic, personally. I may rework or I may just make dozens of #HinterlandDress iterations!

Finally, a dress pattern that works for me! Thanks to @EllenInEdmonton for talking about the #HinterlandDress, rustled this one up last weekend. Bonus me made hat. #sewing

Q2: My sewing got much more creative and prolific once I discovered thrifted fabrics! These fabrics allow me to experiment with designs and prints that I might or might not buy when they're new. New fabrics are just for special occasions. Also, my notions are mainly purchased already and are available on sale fairly regularly. I got help on tricky bits with this dress I'm sewing from thrifted batik.

When you find something that works, you might as well put it on repeat! I'm on #4 of the #HinterlandDress and the #AshtonTop.
I find that each iteration teaches me new lessons.

Purple #HinterlandDress made last year and worn lots
Took an Itsy Bitsy Bag class and made myself 2 book bags for my upcoming road trip. Sewed my stash, using Bali batiks and thrifted broadcloth for lining gussets. Peacock feathered fabric purchased in #Singapore and turquoise pattern purchased in #Thailand. Excited to take my travels with me in a visible way.

@[email protected] I was making good progress on a #HinterlandDress when #COVID sent me home early from a sewing retreat. Not really a knitter but I have a neck warmer on the go: just round and round knitting on round needles.
