This crow was almost ready to fight us for the soft drink container. I saw the bird take it up off the road and into the park. By the time we (Me and Maron the Shiba Dog) got into the park the bird got the container over to the other side of the park fence.. The other crows that were watching how this one would make out with the booty took off long before we got near the fence. I was tempted to pick up the trash for the trash bag at home but the bird had worked so hard for it...

Something fascinating about the downed park trees after a typhoon. I wish I had the permission and the time to treat them right, to saw and chop them up for firewood, maybe take some of the more beautiful and promising sections to people who can carve and sculpt wood.

Went out this morning for Maron's walk in the Typhoon. Didn't think anyone else would be out there but an older lady with a bigger shiba was out there in a clear rain poncho. She can barely control the dog in good weather so I avoided getting to close and make the dogs anymore excited about jumping around and playing. Luckily none of the branches (widow makers) came down while she was walking under the tree row. I should get out there as soon as the storm clears to get some kindling for the winter. I wish I could get a couple months worth of warmth from this fallen Sakura CherryBlossom tree. There is a block separator between this cherry blossom part of the park and the playground part of the park. I wonder if the block, or their installation, cut off some roots and made it more susceptible to falling over? Or maybe it was sick from a variety of other reason.. Sometimes trees just fall over I guess. _The Need For Roots_ and good health!!
But the tree is still alive. Would be great to support it, lop off the branches that reach into the road and let it bloom and seed for a few more years.. Could be made into another attraction for the kids.
