The Hosios Loukas Monastery, founded in the 10th century by a hermit Luke of Steiris, is one of the most important monuments of Middle Byzantine art and architecture in Greece.

It is renowned for its exquisite mosaics and frescoes.

The monastery was built on the slopes of Mount Helicon so no matter where you look it’s quite a site.
