Found this delightful rendition of Uccelli's aria sopra la bergamesca by the above-named consort. Soprano recorder, violin, and archlute.
La bergamesca was a popular tune for "dividing," making intricate virtuosic passages out of. This piece by Uccelli is usually performed on two violins, but the use of recorder here (playing an octave higher than written) works well, not breaking any of the voice leading. Wonderful.
Have you seen the right hand fingers numbered 6 to 10 in keyboard music? I kind of like it. Right now I use two different colored pens in forScore when writing fingerings, but if I could relearn my right hand as 6 to 10 that would be more efficient. #earlymusic #baroque #harpsichord #clavichord #organ #piano
