Finally done building all the Heavy Gear Blitz models I had. It took a few years but I did it! 🥳
Painting is probably gonna take priority again for a bit but I have a few other things to build in the back log yet.

@pidgeon_pete @Spark Cast resin has a mold release to my understanding.
I have a #heavygearblitz that I partially painted, transported to/from a game in which it was used, and then brought home to finish. It had one spot that had the paint just fall off.
You almost have to treat it like discovering rust on an auto body: Make sure the entire area is cleaned then repaint and try again. And I always wash my minis before priming to avoid thinking of thing.
@erikcats @mxfraud I have a somewhat similar project I abandoned somewhere I want to get back to. Mine was making stat blocks for #heavygearblitz but it’s still layout. I feel like these would be relatively quick.
Another option would be that many design apps, possibly including #affinitydesigner can do what we called a Mail Merge in the old days, so you could have it take data from a spreadsheet and build cards for you. An Affinity expert. Ight be able to advise on this though.
I finished some desert camo mechs for Heavy Gear last week. Process was slow, as I layered on 4 colors of individually shaped blobs for the pattern. One of those schemes that's 90% drudge work up front, and then the wash and detail work flies by. This one in particular I think came out best. Some of the others in the batch came out a little frosty from the final varnish.

@erickolb I’ve done it. You have my sympathies.
Two recent-ish ones for me, nothing involving metal minis for #heavygearblitz :
* Dropped a painted Vulture (a largish heavy weapons model) while clear-coating in our at the time otherwise useless sunroom. Explosive shattering, but found all parts and able to glue and restore.
* Had a fun list for a game the next day and needed to clear coat a pair of Warlock (an exotic E Warfare unit) minis I was actually somewhat proud of. Tripped on the steps to the basement and it went flying. Lost parts in the debris at the bottom of the stairwell. It was also sticky from being clear coated so the recovered bits were covered in unwanted leaf debris. Tossed the partial remains.
