For all those who – like me – grew up mainly in the 1980s and early 1990s: Listen to this gem. For me it’s the embodiment of early 1990s hard rock: A fat sound, heavy guitar riffs, a high pitched male singer, thundering drums. It’s plainly awe inspiring! Actually, the album in its entirety is a must-listen if you’re into this kind of music. #music #BlackSabbath #HeadlessCross

So the TLDR of my #BlackSabbath - #HeadlessCross #review: #tonymartin was great, the rest of the album let him down! I think I may be a Martin convert. 5/5
#BlackSabbath - #HeadlessCross, 1989. Sorry, I'm focusing on the guitars so much but, it's kind of the thing that makes metal, metal. The solos are tainted by 80s meedly-meedly nonsense, and it's clear Iommi was trying hard to keep up. From a songwriting POV, Call Of The Wild is nearly on par with the best Dio Sabbath but OMG, the production! Black Moon is cool but every time I hear a good riff, the gobs of reverb and chorus just ruin it. 3/5
#BlackSabbath - #HeadlessCross, 1989. Iommi is the riff master but it's not at all apparent so far. For a long time, I always assumed Martin was the problem but the dude is singing his heart out! His voice is on par with Dio. But I can't get over the lousy production. You'd think tech would have improved since the 70s but this sounds way worse than any of those releases. Kill In The Spirit World has hints of the old Iommi but fuck, the production is so shit. The drums sound good if very 80s. 2/5
#BlackSabbath - #HeadlessCross, 1989. There isn't enough room to go track by track so I'll just give a general impressions #review. The opener tries hard and #TonyMartin has a great voice, but the song drags a bit, I stopped paying attention. Iommi's riffs are kind of dumbed down, and sound mushy. The production is very dated, drowning in reverb and chorus and it undermines the guitars even more than the riffs. When Death Calls, is better but again, the production lets the guitars down. 1/5
