Taking revenge for an #IRA ambush in which six #police cadets were injured, several truck-loads of British soldiers, on #ThisDayInHistory in 1921, headed into a nearby town of #Headford, #CountyGalway, Ireland. There they burnt down eight buildings, including a convent & rectory.
