I didn’t remember The Radiant Emperor being both this gay and this sapphic. I’m not complaining though. More than anything, can it for the first part of the duology be even defined sapphic? Ma doesn’t know Zhu isn’t a man, just as Ma doesn’t know Zhu is attracted by feminine men and women. Of course my favourite ship from it is Ouyang and Esen though, so Ma and Zhu aren’t really my area of expertize

4/5: So this begins with a bang, including but not limited to Ouyang going completely OoC. Weird choice but okay. (Or perhaps he was OoC in the first book and this unhinged way is his truu self.
