Have an #Egyptian terracotta figure of ithyphallic #Harpocrates for #PhallusThursday. The young god is depicted in the nude, with a large phallus.

This bronze statuette by Donatello (c. 1435-40) combines the attributes of several ancient male gods including the trousers of Attis, the wings of a cupid, the tail of a faun, the winged feet of Mercury and a snake associated with Hercules. However, for me, his youthful joie de vivre and exuberance recalls Harpocrates, the son of Isis and Osiris. Seen at the Donatello Exhibition at V&A
