Hey #fedi! I'm thinking of getting some long lengths of pebble #LED strips to hang across an open space. I know the #HardwareHackingVillage at #37c3 had some of these running back and forth in Hall 3.

Looking at the options, I have some questions:

* Do they need to be attached to some rope, or can they hang across some distance without support?
* If they're hung without support -- how is the joint between the connection pigtail and the string reinforced? Is it enough to just solder the joint?
