Happy #BoxingDay y'all.
The morning was bright &sunny on #YnysMôn. A balmy 10°C too.

Me and the @druid ventured down to #Beaumaris, where the traditional #HotPennies (chocolate nowadays due to H&S) we being thrown to a large crowd from the balcony of the Bulkley Hotel.

The castle looked amazing today, too.

Finally, we went to #Moelfre to look for #hagstones, of which there are normally quite a few.

Now, we are deciding whether to have a #takeaway or a fridge #picnic for our tea tonight.

Weaved #willow, tree bark #cordage, #raccoon vertebrae, twined #grass, #hagstones, and a fish jaw #bone.

#Today I was straightening up the yard before putting up holiday lights and I gathered up some of the #HagStones we have collected on our many beach adventures. I'm looking for faces in them now specifically. I think I want a couple dozen I can use to flesh out a display like this.

Sometimes called #HagStones the #CunningFolk of the island called them #CroneStones. 
The #SeaCrone will give them as gifts; tradition dictates that if you find one then collect it if you know someone who needs it, otherwise leave it be. 
They are imbued with the deepest of magics; they can ward off evil and be used as a #talisman. When looked through, they can give vision to other realms, the future and the past and can give people wisdom and forethought.

Cornish hagstone & key charms. When you spend an inordinate amount of time in intertidal liminal zones you often come across a wide variety of strange things, holed stones (or hagstones, witch stones, fairy stones, etc) seem to have a peculiar habit of finding me. For the life of me I couldn’t tell you why but it’s fairly regular, and making house charms from them is a joy. The hard part is acquiring the iron keys which are highly sought nowadays. #hagstones #folklore #cornwall
