4/5: I absolutely loved The House in the Cerulean Sea and was eagerly anticipating this sequel, which perhaps could never have lived up to it. T.J. Klune expands his unique world with eerie parallels to our own and introduces us to some new characters, which to be honest are hit or miss. The new child is a lovely addition, but the new main antagonist is too flat. There is one moment about half way through where it looks like there is room for some development, but that is ignored afterwards.
