Someone started me on a new, small, #TTRPG project at about 1900. At 2000, I had 733 words and only stopped because the library is closing and I have other work to do. #Hackmaster
#Hackmaster, the "new" one that got started in 2009. A very crunchy D&D-like system.
#SavageWorlds, which is extremely flexible and handles a lot of "I want to play X" sorts of things well.
#StarWarsd6 an older system, but I've been playing it off and on for decades, and still refer to it.
#ADnD2e, which, though it has its warts, remains a favorite.

One must learn to use dice. Most #rpg do not even teach the basics of correct dice handling. Avoid these lower-grade games.

@auguryignored I'm going to suggest #SavageWorlds. I've run fun fantasy games from just the main book, and the Fantasy Companion has a lot of what you're looking for.
*#Hackmaster, another favorite, has a fairly good skill system, and is definitely on the crunchier side. It also emphasizes that PCs start as regular folk, not superheroes. Also? Free Basic book.
*It's old school and takes a bit to get into, but #Rolemaster is a crunchy toolbox. A friend suggested it and I've been digging in.

Digital Mark λ ☕️ 🕹 👽I can't stand most of the adventures in KODT. Hackmaster material is so annoying to read. Long-winded text, 10 lines where 1 would do.
Stat blocks suck for converting to OSR, no HD listed, so you have to guesstimate from Atk (+6 = maybe 5 HD), HP are insane (32 HP for these, but also for Lvl 1 fighters!), AAC is called DR. And they drop weapons, why?
This is listed as an 8th Level adventure, but it looks much lower.
