Had a bit of a fun adventure this morning. For some reason, I was thinking about the funny, but emotional #BedBathAndBeyond scene in #TheGoodPlace, and I remembered that they had closed all their stores. I was wondering if there was anything left of the one closest to me, so I decided to drive there on a whim.

Nope, nothing left, it's a Planet Fitness now, which is funny. You can tell it's the same physical location by the shape of the building and windows/doors, but there isn't even a shadow of the former sign there.

While I was there, I was *very* surprised to see that there was a real-life brick-and-mortar OfficeMax practically next door!

#OfficeMax!!! Memories flooded my mind of buying my trusty #HP48G in an OfficeMax in 1994, and of browsing various #PDAs at my local #OfficeDepot in #OKC in the mid-#2000s.

And imagine my surprise to see actual boxed software there. Including #WordPerfect!!! What!! That's so groovy.

They also had several boxes of #McAfee #AntiVirus, which... KILL IT WITH FIRE. Utter garbage software. XD

I also saw a bunch of #Moleskines there, which reminded me of @[email protected] and @[email protected]'s conversation about Moleskines, and the nostalgia hit me right then and there, but I didn't buy one for want of a suitable pen (and of course, I know the paper quality is pretty meh).

Still, fun little jaunt, and a jaunt down memory lane. 😊

Now that's a lovely blast from the past!

The Internet Archive's beautiful Calculator Drawer is a fantastic realization of an actual drawer in my basement. My first open source project was blackjack for the HP 48G+... unfortunately distribution mechanism was VOLUMES of BASIC (I think?) written on notebook paper.
