Looks like #HDTracks, or their payment processor, may have been breached. I generate and use unique #Privacy cards for the vast majority of online retailers so that each site gets its own card that isn't used anywhere else. Someone did a test fire yesterday against my HDTracks card. I've notified HDTracks via the "Contact" form on their page and paused my card for them, but if they were indeed the source of the breach, I won't be the only one affected.

Hey Fediverse, you got any Bandcamp Recommendations? Maybe even some mainstream music on HDTracks? Trying to expand my personally owned music library, store it on some usb drives, and throw it on my 3ds. I just don't know here to begin.

I tend to like rock/metal music mostly but I also listen to jazz on occasion. Video game music is always a safe choice too.

Currently I mostly listen to Louie Zong, Good Kid, and Rare Americans (see Brittle Bone Nicky post) as some examples. More Mainstream I've listened to ACDC and Queen.

If you're in a country where this affects you, #7Digital and #HDTracks, and Amazon for that matter, sell high qualify DRM free downloads of your #music that you can keep forever, copy to all your other devices, etc. You can also buy and rip CDs.

Learning about #audio. The last album I bought from #HDTracks basically stops at 22khz when you spectrum analyze it with Audacity. Converting the FLAC to a 320kbps MP3 shows a noticeable difference in both the waveform and the resolution displayed in the spectrum window. The spectrum plot looks less detailed with a much sharper dropoff at 22khz, and the waveform seems to fill in or bridge a lot of the narrower peaks. So the FLACs are better even with the 22 khz dropoff.
