@hamchallenge #HC01S - well, it's almost over, and 20k qsos later, I still feel we're not done yet. But this was a group effort, I did the back. QSL cards are pretty cool - the paper ones at least, writing is the next best thing you can get to the person being there. I feel like electronic qsl "jpg cards" (not eqsl services like lotw) are pointless - the quality is useless for printing; they are filled bulk like an 1984 automatic literature printer, and lack the human touch of handwriting.

Another week of the #HamChallenge completed (#HC01s) and I had a lot of fun working on this. Hopefully I can get some of these printed up soon, and maybe get some fediverse friends in my collection!

Designing a New QSL Card

Meanwhile I upgraded my license.
With my new callsign DO1WS the QSL card and QRZ.com need an urgent re-design and update.
I think in MASTODON my profile name remains on the old callsign DN9WR?

The QSL shows a very special moment in 2024 ... it was just after the montly meeting of our local radio club - the sky was glowing

@mcdanlj thanks for pointing out I need to mention the bot too.

Sorry for all the noise! ๐Ÿ˜…

Although I am waiting for sample stock to arrive to decide which stock to use for my order, I believe I have a complete design (even if I further improve it later) so I'll count this as #HC01S @hamchallenge completed.

Like @stu I started the design this past fall, but completed it during the challenge week.

Slow learner here. Re-reading the #HamChallenge info page, I'm supposed to add #HC01S to get credit for completing my QSL card.

While I designed the front shortly before CY25 started, I designed the back and ordered cards during (and partly because of) the challenge. I'd say that's in keeping with the spirit of things.

Shout out to ux5uoqsl.com, the Ham who's making my cards.

Iโ€™ve been using my current QSL card for years and donโ€™t see a reason to change that, but this being the year of the #hamchallenge, I came up with a plan to use learn more about #AI and used that for my #HC01S design. I tried to incorporate my #POTA activities.

Slowly working on a QSL card design. Been wanting to do something with this photo for a while.
