guy,in,a,hatToday I realized that one of my sources for info on #gumBichromate has been dead for a few years. #Katherinethayer. She has or had a website that someone keeps up to date. Or rather keeps. Since some websites have died with their author I decided to just copy the darn thing. So I got a copy of the site. It is copyright so it'll be a local thing for myself. I'm a pirate now :)

LawrencesViewI spent last week in Maine learning gum bichromate printing in a workshop with Diana Bloomfield! A challenging process, but I can see lots of potential for color printing.
After 8 long months and more than 1 full pound of #knox gelatin of weekly and sometimes daily trial and error I made a good #print today! Its #ferricgum and not #gumBichromate so it is safer to do. I though I had totally ducked the paper coating but I exposed it anyway for the heck of it. I applied the peroxide and walked away. I forgot about it. But then I had to pee so I went to the bathroom which is also my development room lol. I did my business and washed my hands and then I said oh why not
I have definitely just reinvented a new way to do #gumBichromate but in the form of #gumferric, more like #ferriccarbon.
I lost the first ever image made by this process because I was expecting it to behave similar to gum bichromate but it behaved like carbon transfer.
I'm totally excited by this. The best part is all about how easy that was. I gotta recollect my thoughts and set up new experiments.
I've made a big leap forward in my search for a safe #alternativephotography process that is capable of #color without the use of #dichromate! There are several clues in the various sites regarding alternative photography. I was just stubborn enough to keep digging. I think I've found a good process that is as easy as the #gumBichromate process but could also extend to #carbontransfer. I just got my first image repeatability.
