Last night was a little rough so this morning I am stuffing 8g of White2Tea yesheng gushu hongcha into my pot. Don't judge.

@tea Today I am enjoying one tea that I am particularly fond of: a puerh made from ancient (over 300 years old) trees in the village of Matai - Yunnan… Delicious…

I started brewing this Gushu Hong black tea yesterday and infused it several times. Today it's still a rich dark color with a delicious full flavor. I suppose you could say it's the John Wick of black teas, or for a historical analogy, the Rasputin of black teas.

Gushu Hong Jinngu Black Tea

Started with a #Shou #Puerh from Myanmar.
I ordered it from a local shop, which apparently had less than a cake of this tea - it's already gone from their site.

According to the label - 2018, #GuShu material.

Dry leaves smell like a fruit wood.

When brewed - taste like a very light shou, pretty much without any traces of a dustiness.

We coined a description - "fruit tree branches taste".

More or less just a curious thing to try once.

Finishing a sampler of "Suan Zao Shu", a Jinggu #GuShu Yunnanese #Hongcha ['21 or '22, YS].

In general, it's a potent CSvA tea, the most intriguing parts are:
1. dry leaf smell - sweet rose
2. taste - to me it seems to lie in between of pure Assamica from non-China and CSvS from other Chinese regions.

Tea starts to taste like it's your good Indian or SriLankan, but then it surprisingly do not overwhelm you with too much of astringency. That's neat, however that's it.

I'm going to spend what's left from "Peony Chirps" - #GuShu (100+ yo trees) #BaiCha (white tea) from Nan Nuo [Spring `21, ML], but this attempt was something different - brewing in silver and sipping from my latest purchased cup.

The pros and cons of brewing in silver are about the same - teapot doesn't add (or take out) anything to the tea, being quite honest about actual liquid taste, but oftentimes you need that effect of a clay.
