"Midnight Rider" is a song by the American rock band #theAllmanBrothersBand. It was the second #single from their second studio album, #IdlewildSouth (1970), released on #CapricornRecords. The song was primarily written by vocalist #GreggAllman, who first began composing it at a rented cabin outside #Macon, #Georgia. He enlisted the help of #roadie Robert Kim Payne to complete the song's lyrics.

Eat A Peach

Every time I'm in Georgia, I eat a peach for peace ... ~ Duane Allman February 12, 1972. The Allman Brothers Band release Eat A Peach. How the album got its name is best told by Dacey Orr Sivewright in a piece she did a few years back in Garden & Gun. #70smusic #70srock #allmanbrothersband #ClassicRock #countryrock #DuaneAllman #EataPeach #greggallman #southernblues #music #musicsky #musiciansky

You Can't Make This Stuff Up ...
"Whipping Post" is a song by #TheAllmanBrothersBand. Written by #GreggAllman, the five-minute studio version first appeared on their 1969 debut album The Allman Brothers Band. The song was regularly played live and was the basis for much longer and more intense performances. This was captured in the Allman Brothers' 1971 #double live album #AtFillmoreEast, where a 22-minute, 40-second rendition of the song takes up the entire final side.

Low Country Blues https://robinbannks.com/2026/01/18/47524/ #GreggAllman, #LowCountryBlues, #Music, #NowPlaying

Low Country Blues was released on this day, January 18, 2011. It’s produced by the legendary T Bone Burnett and is a gorgeous album … one of my fav solo efforts from Gregg Allman.

"Melissa" (sometimes called "Sweet Melissa") is a song by American rock band #theAllmanBrothersBand, released in August 1972 as the second single from the group's fourth album, #EatAPeach. The song was written by vocalist #GreggAllman in 1967, well before the founding of the group. Two #demoVersions from those years exist, including a version cut by #the31stOfFebruary, a band that featured #ButchTrucks, the Allman Brothers' later drummer.
