Passed by the BORP #AdaptiveCycling station on the #GreatWalkway. Seems like a cool program to share with anyone you know who could enjoy an adaptive bike/trike.

@bhawthorne @benhaube @mekkaokereke @ZuriBella In SF a vocal minority of drivers pushed to undo the early pandemic car-free spaces. Car-brained politicians have consistently caved to them even though overall car traffic is still well below pre-pandemic levels. We've had to fight for almost every single car-free or car-light street. We won some spaces permanently (#JFKPromenade), some have partially survived (#GreatWalkway), and some went back to the status quo (certain #SlowStreets)

Bonus #GreatWalkway day! The only fourth of july tradition I recognize is banning cars

Maybe we block a little bit of traffic, as a treat?

#GreatWalkway

I tried to do a #GreatWalkway ride today but made it ~20 ft before turning around because the wind was blowing way too much sand

I ended up doing an extra loop between the Murphy windmill and Chain of Lakes and trying the dirt path, that was a fun substitute. I should take that more often, at least downhill

went for a β€œsniff snuff” during the break in the storm: what my sister calls a brief walk to get a breath of fresh air.
tons of debris on #OceanBeach, rough surf, but snowy plovers are darting in and out of water to pluck out the tastiest bits of seaweed washing ashore. few humans, most with dogs.

and oh, #GreatHwy #GreatWalkway is buried in sand and flooded in places.

@scott I thought Prop J was JFK Drive. It’s a bonus that it includes the #GreatWalkway too. Next I hope former roads are transformed into great spaces for people. I’ve see transformations in other cities which have been life changing for residents. There is one spot which has been set up as an outdoor reading room. It’s surrounded by large, yellow planters.
