The #DiocletianicPersecution, or #GreatPersecution of #Christians, began on #ThisDayInHistory in 303 with orders to destroy a church. This was the first time official #Roman policy had proscribed the Jewish splinter sect and across eight years of it ~3000 Christian were martyred.
