Seriously, #Australia's #2G & #3G #Shutdown and #IMEI-based #Blocklisting WILL inevitably kill people

And the only "tool" there is is #Telstra's Website and just teting random IMEIs only yields two possible results:

  • 'We don't know this device at all'

  • "'We've not blocklisted it'*

    • Even when testing it with obvious #2Gonly & #3Gonly devices that certainly don't support #VoLTE...

    @chinwagnews Are we talking in human years or ibis years?

    None of the politicians squawking in favour of this Age Verification issue are making sense.

    Makes you wonder:
    - What's it for? Really, apart from appealing to pearl-clutching technophobes who mutter "Won't somebody think of the children?"
    - They're talking it up, but can it actually do any good?
    - How will it be implemented?
    - Can this whacky plan even _be_ implemented by every Tech company around the world to satisfy some knobs in Canberra?
    - Why are the ALP and LNP perennially obsessed with censoring what we can do on the Internet, and is this another iteration of the "Great Firewall of Australia", "Filter", and "You Wouldn't Steal a Car" garbage previous governments have attempted?
    - How many Cyber Star Rating stickers will I need to certify my Age Verification score?

    The ALP and LNP may as well be talking in dog years because their proposed Age Verification legislation is a dog's breakfast.
