Arrived at the airport early. Instead of sitting at some overpriced chain restaurant full of screaming children, we’ve parked ourselves in the first-class lounge. Calm, sparsely populated, comfy. For C$39 per person, we’ve got 3h of all-you-can-eat, all-you-can-drink, charging points, and comfy seats. Very civilised.
Instead of dinosaurs, today we hit up the #TelusSpark Science Centre.

We decided not to brace the roads out to Drumheller again today, so no dinosaurs for us. We have to check out of our hotel at 12.00 but we don’t need to be at the airport until 15.00.
So far, I’m just lying around, reading. I’m not sure about later.
One thing’s for certain: we’re not coming this late in the year again.
In summation, our experience of Calgary this far…
Us: We’re going to drive to Drumheller today to see the dinosaurs.
The weather: Ha ha no.
Us: There’s a cool little eatery across the street that actually has food we can eat. We’ll have breakfast there.
The bakery: Due to unforeseen circumstances, our kitchen is unavailable.

After lunch, we made a trek through downtown, saw Devonian Gardens, and then stopped for coffee. By the time we got back to our hotel, we’d done 16,430 steps for the day – almost all of that in the cold, the wind, the snow, and at one point the hall.
We were like, the hotel’s restaurant has excellent vegan options, we don’t have to go outside again until tomorrow. Hooray!
Ha ha no.
After a 15-minute walk in the cold, we made it to @mondaysplantcafe. Best thing to happen so far today.
Well. We left my parents yesterday afternoon and drove down to Calgary. The plan for today was to drive out to Drumheller and spend a few hours at the Royal Tyrell. But it looks like that’s off the table now.
Suggestions for what to do in #YYC? Bear in mind, we are left-leaning and plant-based. We’re staying in the East Village and looking to walk.
Leaving my parents’ house this afternoon was made all the harder by this little guy with his guilt-tripping face.
