In the nearby town of Galtellì, some of the 1930s–40s stones have lettering that appears to come from the brass and zinc stencils originating in France in the 19th century, and commonly associated with Le Corbusier. Not sure exactly how they were used here, though. Perhaps as stamps in concrete?
