#GooglePlus for #GSuite will shutdown on July 6th, 2020: https://techcrunch.com/2020/06/05/and-thats-really-it-for-google/

While the #GooglePlusShutdown for consumers was more than a year ago already, in April of 2019, it was still kept around to die a slow and silent death for #GoogleSuite users.

While I've seen a couple of hardcore #GPlus users in the odd Communities that were forcefully set to 'private' a few weeks after the consumer shutdown, to me it had lost its appeal.

In typical #Google fashion, #Currents will replace it.

After Its Public Shutdown, Google+ Users Continue To Mourn

Google+ was shut down for consumers on April 2, 2019. We spoke to a few former Google+ users who were active on the network and asked them to share their thoughts on the demise of Google+.

Posting to 'public' or collections on Google+ no longer seems possible, even for G Suite users. While #GSuite users have remained to be able to set their post visibility on #GooglePlus to public, as well as post to Collections, post the consumer #GooglePlusShutdown this no longer seems to be an option anymore either. #GPlus currently seems restricted to domain-only and (public/private) Community posts (though public Communities can also no longer be created) - 1/2

Oh how useful... the #GoogleDataTakeout JSON files seem to contain references to https://video-downloads.googleusercontent.com/ files that give a HTTP 400 error, possibly because those URLs tend to expire in a short period?

Time for a bit more coding on #PlexodusTools, and archiving of personal content from the GoogleUserContent servers before it's inevitably deleted too.

The occasional post reshared from a consumer account by a G Suite account before the #GooglePlusShutdown still showing the contents of the message, but their name is blanked out by asterisks. The mostly-empty communities left behind show that there was once a civilisation with many homes and gathering places here, but which are now desolate places with ghostly shadows left behind - 1/2

Is it just me, or has #Google already closed off the #GooglePlus APIs?
I'm getting 204 No Content results for all Activity#get and Comment#get requests, and empty "items: []" list results for Activity#list and Comment#list queries.

Or is it just me, and have I been shadowbanned?

You can try via the API Explorer: https://developers.google.com/+/web/api/rest/latest/activities/list?authuser=2&apix_params=%7B"userId"%3A"me"%2C"collection"%3A"public"%7D

Today's freshly committed code will not only request relevant JSON from the APIs, it will also combine it all into single structured JSON file per domain.

Hurry up though, the scripts rely on the #GPlus #APIs which will go away on March 7th, so in a few days.

The most important will be to retrieve all the data; once the data is cached locally, future updates to improve structure and parsing of the JSON archive can work based on the cached results.
