Hey there @bookstodon #bookmastodon — I’m wondering if there’s any consensus around what the best alternative to #goodreads is. I’m finally ready to migrate my reading history and I know there are a few alternatives. Looking for a large community, easy interface that works on phone and computer, and in an ideal world there would be groups too that have some traction for things like #1001books reads and info. The last bit is what has kept me on Goodreads to date. #goodreadsmigration
@EllenInEdmonton @sinabhfuil Sounds like you and I are sort of in the same boat. I wonder if I can get the #GoodreadsMigration hashtag to take off.

@EllenInEdmonton @sinabhfuil I've been on Goodreads since 2009. My TBR list is ~650 books (more than enough to last the rest of my life). There have been plenty of times I've picked up a book to add to my list only to see it's already there. That alone makes GR invaluable.

I also hate that it's part of the Amazon empire. There are alternatives. I've heard good things re: StoryGraph and LibraryThing. Relocating and starting over would be quite the task, though. #bookstodon #GoodreadsMigration
