Bringing my morning coffee to the house today, I was completely caught off guard. The electricians and plumbers just finished, but the carpenters have worked at lightning speed—the white-waxed glulam pine panels are already almost fully installed on the walls!
It is so breathtakingly beautiful that it actually brought tears to my eye (I only have one).
The vertical lines of the wood play so beautifully with the surrounding forest, the exterior heartwood pine cladding, and the sweeping view of the fjord and mountains. Everything feels connected. HOME❤️

I tend to think that processes and relations are more important in determining the quality of our lives than materials, but I must say that I find #masstimber (#CLT or #glulam primarily) superimpressive. In part, this is because of the processes of assembly it permits and the healthier – and potentially #postgrowth –relations it allows us to enter into as a building material, but some of my enthusiasm is just sheer aesthetic glee.
