One of my first online communities was the virtual pet collecting community. We're talking #tamagotchi and #gigapets and #postpet and #creatures - in general, if it involves taking care of cute critters on some kind of device, I'm into it.

I'd like to take a few moments to introduce a few of my current favourite virtual pet and simulation games, partially because I could use more in-game friends and partially because a bunch are doing exciting limited-time events.
