If we agree that we need to repeat the basics of energy production, which is the case, then A Better Tomorrow is not a bad example to use. It’s short session (~10 minutes or so) packs enough to be a decent starter on the subject, and not bad as a game either. And it’s free!

Steam:A Better Tomorrow

Join the green revolution! 🌱 Relax and learn about clean energy in this cozy, minimalist 2D city-building strategy game. Build windmills, solar panels, and more to provide energy to villages and cities while protecting the environment. Let's work together to make 'A Better Tomorrow'!

For #GetThereGames I would also like to find articles, videos, etc. It won’t be the main focus, but you can’t just play the games all the time, you know! At least I can’t 😊

This one is not particularly groundbreaking, but it is still a valuable question: why are we still collecting coins? It also highlights some pretty good games.

Terra Nil is a great fit for #GetThereGames, and also something I disagree with. I won’t go into the details, not the point, but I just think the whole “let’s restore/fix/geoengineer/etc.” thing is what got us into this mess in the first place. But regardless, the idea of figuring out how to restore soil, then flora, then fauna, and then pack up and leave, which is a gameplay loop here, is something we should at least think about.

City builders aren’t really my thing, so I’m not the person to say if Block’hood is a good game, but there are interesting ideas. You do a lot of things – from food to energy, from housing to recreation, etc. – but focus on just one neighborhood. It is a contemporary game, there is money, but you have to take care of all kinds of numbers, from bees (really 🐝) to pollution. You also build up, which is rare in the genre.

@dtanzer @MichalBryxi @Karstan @LilithElina Hey, nice people! I decided to go with #GetThereGames, at least for now, so if you want to participate, share, boost or just follow, that would be great!

A short introduction to #GetThereGames: Games that can be used as an argument for working towards a better world.

Want to participate? Choose a topic. Restorative justice, climate change, trade unions, etc. etc. Can a game be used as an argument to discuss this topic? If so, it fits. That’s it, add the hashtag!

It’s a quick introduction because I don’t want to own the hashtag and I hope it will be shaped by use.

https://colestia.itch.io/postcapitalism

POST/CAPITALISM is best described as an educational game. With a bit of puzzling you discover not only the problems caused by, you guessed it, capitalism, but also that they are often interconnected. It is quite short and free.

I returned to #MiniMetro. Not a city builder, a puzzle game, but also an ode to public transportation. I have been doing a challenge or two a day, not to exhaust it too quickly.

Mini Metro (2014) - MobyGames

Mini Metro is a minimalistic subway simulator. The goal of the game is to connect stations with the limited amount of lines. Each line can connect to as many stations as needed, but the longer the line, the longer it takes the train to travel to all...
