I'm currently watching a documentary titled, "The Nazi Dismantling of Constitutional Law in Germany" There's a line Timothy Ryback says who is from the Institute for Historical Justice at Leiden Univ. He says Adolf Hitler, then Chancellor of Germany met with Pres Hindenburg after the Reichstag Fire, which he compares to 9/11 for the U.S. When he met with Hindenburg he said "we must suspend civil liberties. This was the first major step of the dismantling of the democratic system in Germany.
