The right to vote was extended to all women in Ireland in conjunction with the formation of the Free State in 1922. Prior to this, a law was introduced in 1918 in which only women aged 30 and over were allowed to vote, and even then only if they or their husbands held property amounting to at least Β£5 in worth at the time.
